hlpinout Thanks for your posts. As usual they are help'nout a lot. I still do not understand why we took such a hit. Maybe there is something more coming. Compaq IMHO should be in the $45 to 55 range. This news easily could have droped up from $50 to 48 not 41 to 35. The company has always held a conservative price. By comparison, other box makers are way over valued. P/E is not an absolute measure but how can you compare a p/e in the 20s of Compaq with that of Dell's in the 50s and say that Dell is not over priced. Not to pick on Dell which is a good company, but to say that Compaq is also a good company and has been since the industry started.
