Rocketman, I don't think AOL owning ATT or vice versa is a good idea, here are the reasons:

(1) AOL grew so fast in the past because there is no inventory problem and there is no bags.

Asking AOL to carry ATT is like asking MSFT to own IBM,
asking TV companies to own AUTO company, it carries burden, any company who carries bags won't grow fast.

(2) If ATT merges AOL, then why ATT wants to spin off its ISP
service to ATHM? why IBM dumpped the network to ATT? And why
ATT dumps an ISP and buys an ISP and back to square one?

(3) If AOL merges ATT, it nails its own foot, other
partnerships will become scarce and seeking elsewhere, this is like
a suicide.

(4) If AOL can seek partnership with ATT and others, why will it marry
to one and lose freedom <G> ?

For AOL to go forward in a fast pace, it should remain independent, remains a 'single' status.

(5) ATT + AOL may bring ANTI-TRUST from U.S.
