February 26, 1999 Nikkei English News : TOKYO (Nikkei)-IBM Japan Ltd. started marketing three models in the Aptiva 443Family home-use personal computer series on Wednesday. The models feature Voice Ichitaro9 word-processing software developed by Justsystem Corp. (4686), which enables users to input characters by voice, and are equipped with Intel Corp.'s 366-megahertz Celeron microprocessor and an 8-gigabyte hard-disk drive. The new PCs also allow users to input spreadsheet data and e-mail with Justsystem's VoiceATOK Japanese-language input software conforming to voice recognition. Although the PCs are sold under the open pricing system, models with 15-inch cathode-ray tube monitors are priced at 199,000 yen when bought through IBM mail-order sales.
