There have been approximately 75 orders from private citizens in Mexico for the Rhino SUV, but, according to the Mexican partner in the joint venture, the Mexican army is interested in buying 3,000 Rhinos, and they are testing them now. If the army does buy them, it will be necessary to build at least ten more factories. An official PR may come out in four or five months.
A four-wheel-drive Rhino, using Isuzu running gear, will be built at an assembly plant on the old March Air Force Base.
Other entrepreneurs are interested in buying license to build the pickup trucks. Each license would sell for $900,000. One party is interested in building the trucks in the Dominican Republic and distributing them throughout the Caribbean region.
Fifteen pickup trucks have been ordered for evaluation by Genco Mine Service. These trucks will be built to Genco's specifications, and tested in the mines. Genco has exclusive rights to the particular design, which features "suicide doors" for ease of exiting the truck in confined areas. There are five or six companies involved in the mine truck development. And, if BAT gets a contract to replace all 15,000 of the trucks which have to be removed from the mines by November, well, that would amount to $125 million gross revenue...
