Camelot is a wonderful show! Nothing compares with live theatre--the risks, the potential for a really inspirational performance, the fact that no performance is ever the same...
Dan's first stage appearance in high school was as one of the knights in Camelot. He had one line.
"AND MINE!"
Which he says he stole the show with-
I think that's probably an exaggeration.

Speaking of shows--last night we went to the Annual Talent Show up at the high school. It was three and a half hours long, but was absolutely wonderful. We have to sit through it again this afternoon, although I understand some of the acts will be different. Living in a small town has its benefits. Everyone knows everyone else and their children, so the support is terrific. Mistakes are tolerated with great love and appreciation, but overall the quality was breathtaking. THere were several budding Celine Dions and I mean they were GOOD. THe most fun act was the percussion ensemble doing a Stomp like piece using garbage cans-very impressive. THe most moving act was four 6th gradeboys who danced to Men in Black. One of them was in a wheel chair; he had several serious physical handicaps, but boy, could he make that wheelchair scoot! THe high point was when he took center stage and made his chair tilt backwards. Everyone cheered and applauded. I'm sure it was a wonderful moment for him.
Unfortunately his chair got stuck in that reclining position and it took quite a while to get him offstage, but no one cared.
The best act of course, was that wonderful new group called, "sHow?" which happens to have two gorgeous and talented boys named Westbrook in it.
