Yes a lot of FUD has been flying.

First on the 2.4 issue. In fact as was ststed earlier - the OEMs never use parts without looking at qual data.

Secondly both AMD and Intel in the past have released faster parts with increased VCC after initial rollouts of slower/lower voltage parts.

On the Celeron, our pal Intel was crowing about how AMD was dead due to the price cuts in early January. We now know that AMD is starting to dominate the low end and build a brand. This is important for when RISE/IDT/Cyrix have more competitive parts.

Finally on the PIII it seems to me that the market clearly is yawning at the small incremental improvements by Intel. This has allowed AMD to catch up within 1 speed grade.

Clearly Intel has shot itself with the Celeron marketing and now the PIII design. The agressive pricing of PIII 450 systems for $1500 seems to show that Intel is slashing OEM prices on PIII as we speak.

Let's see if AMD can deliver, they have another golden opportunity.
