Another thing worth noticing is that the defection rate is climbing up with the competition heating up. AOL's growth rate is already slowing down right now. They were supposed to hit the 6M number 2 weeks ago, now they're talking this week. The new plan definitely reflects that the new users they acquired are mainly users of the $9.95 plan, and the heavy users are complaining about the price and defecting to ISP or phone companies. We can expect further deteriation of the financial picture for this company in the near future.
