Clyde...? Like the two old duffers in the box seats on the Muppets Show, Clyde doesn't like much of anything. If you follow his antics around the other threads he regurgitates on, about every third person he chats with tells him to "..take his attitude down the road..".
I've offered to buy him out (no response) - although, I don't think he owns any LGOV stock. So, the best policy (as with most pesky brats and/or alzheimer's victims) is just to ignore 'em, or smile politely and go on with the business at hand.
Back to your info about Hughes, if you have a reference to the article you read, a hyperlink to same, or want to post it; that would be very helpful. Hughes has so many divisions a "hint" would be useful.
Microwave telecommunications links (tower-to-tower) are a lot more likely to be used in many areas of China as the technology is simpler, as is the maintenance. The Hughes satellite stuff is a lot more likely to be associated with defense work - which all the hubbub was about. When I was at the (MX) missile works in Denver for Martin-Marietta, Hughes was a prime competitor - so the NSA/DOD/Pentagon would be real sensitive to that equipment/software getting into the wrong hands.
Several posts back - I pointed out that LGOV's engineer is/has developed the Master Plan for building out China's new telephony/telecommunications systems. This puts LGOV in the catbird's seat regarding all of the negotiations, bidding and contracting of these systems. If anyone (Bell, Lucent, Hughes, etc.) wants to play - they're going to have to follow the Master Plan. If they want to suggest alternatives, it will all have to be run back through the engineer that developed the plan. If he says thumbs-up or -down, that'll be the path. What a kick - to be right in the bloody middle - of the biggest telecommunications system expansion on the face of the planet..!!
Again, Ted, thanks for your post - please back it up with some more details so the "world class whiners" around here can't rain on your parade..!
