No...not "only" an adjunct. I think you have the wrong impression from the report. The implication is that in "advanced" cases the results of antridox aren't enough. With advanced cases the use of antridox as an adjunct has yet to be studied(one might presume it will prove helpful).

As I read it wherever the condition is caught prior to advanced stages antridox should be sufficient alone. Reference point two...

I think that with this being the case, the many cases caught early may never require scaling and root planing- thanks to Antridox.
