James - Re: "Most of todays retail buyers are primarily interested in getting on the Internet and you don't need a P-II or P-III to do that. Serious gamers will definitely buy the P-III. "

Why ?

A Pentium II system is pretty cheap and Celeron systems are even cheaper.

Don't forget, this "segment" is still 20% or less of the total market.

Two years ago all the AMDroids told us nobody needs anything faster than a 233 MHz K6.

AMD DROPPED the 233 MHz K6 a year ago - no customers !

Pretty soon these same turkeys will tell us that a 400 MHz K63 is all that anybody will ever need.

Rule of thumb - AMD's top speed (you fill in the blank)____MHz processor is ALL THAT ANYBODY EVER NEEDS.

Yet AMD keeps trying to make faster processors.

Ever asked yourself why?
