Big deal! ASND, LU, and CSCO all out-performed FORE during that period. That does not qualify you as a good stock picker. You also have FORE since 1900 and as you said "bullshit walks". Whoever hold FORE, COMS and HWP as their core holdings should not talk big. Why didn't you buy CSCO instead FORE then is beyond me. You will not get any respect from me by just being arrogant.
I am a small investor and I made a lot of mistakes. When I made a mistake I try to learn from it and move on. Boasting my good trades is not in my nature. The reason why I pick on you is: The dichotomy terms you are using. You as smart, professional, clam, strong hand. We as dumb, amateur, panic, weak hand. My experience tell me I do better as panic weak hand. The most important thing I learn in investing is to get an edge. If I know something you don't I will act with conviction. Most of the time pros know better than me so I "panic" which suits me well. But once in a while I know something pros don't.
I don't know how can you justify yourself by holding FORE for so long and still claiming you made a good "investment". That was a mistake, wasn't it? strong hand. |
