Mark Lijewski ... Rockwell is too late
ISPs around the globe are implementing x2 technology as we speak. First mover advantage is important. First mover advantage for a market leader can crush the competition. Rockwell does not make a modem, they make a chip. U.S. Robotics ruled in 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, etc.

Look at Cisco Systems. They just cut prices on their products. My belief is that they cut prices not in response to Ascend and other network competitors. I believe cisco cut prices as a preemptive strike against Intel. Intel should watch its step and stick with microprocessors. Network companies will never roll over and play dead like the software firms did. Cisco, 3com, etc., will fight tooth and nail against Intel to make sure they bring the giant down if Intel treads further onto their turf. Network management teams are thinking strategically. Also, 3com isn't dead. Even with the price cuts they should see top-line growth around 30% for this quarter.
