First lets get some terminology down.

A "CLIENT", whether it be "FAT" like a multimedia pc or "THIN" like an
internet appliance, can execute an application on a remote "SERVER" to
which it is connected via a network (a LAN, WAN or internet). The process
whereby a client executes an application remotely on a server is called
"REMOTE CONTROL".

OK, with that out of the way let me tell you about a website that I
came across the other day that BLEW ME AWAY!!!!

How would you like to try out remote control over the internet for
yourself? That's right, with a Netscape web browser you can now
execute a Windows application on a WindowsNT server in Florida but it
will look and feel like it is running locally on your PC. (Actually it
may run a little slow depending on the speed of your internet connection
and how many other people are on the server in Florida. I'm out in
California with a fairly fast connection and it ran fine with me.) Intrigued?
Then read on.

The website is at: citrix.com

If you go to the site, they have made 4 applications available for demoing.
They are Lotus Notes, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Access, and NED's TAXI.
Run the TAXI app. It is way cool.

You will need to use Netscape Navigator 2.0 beta 3.0 so get it from
the Netscape site if you do not have it. You will also need to download
some client software from the Citrix site in order to do remote control.
This is all described in instructions at the Citrix site.

Go to the site and try it out. It may change the way you look at the
internet appliance idea and remote control. It impressed the heck out
of me. Tell your friends and associates about this one and tell us
what you think after you have tried it.

I will post some of the info you requested a little later.
