I tracked this during Friday's action but thought it might be worth discussing again. According to the Thompson Institutional Interest Indicator (and I don't know how accurate it is), most of the institutional selling came in mid-morning at $36+. Thereafter, the institutions stopped selling and were buying at $35+. About 1 p.m. and thereafter, institutional interest virtually dried up. Even during the peak of the sell-off the indicator suggests that the institutional interest was not massive. It would indicate that a lot of the action throughout the day was from retailers and most of the afternoon action was from retailers. It might also indicate that institutional selling interest might show up again at $36 +
