Help anyone.

The service business has been the shining star in IBM's quarterly reports for a couple of years now. Could anyone tell me what exactly is service business in layman's terms? More specifically, is any of this service related to companies using IBM as consultant to solve Y2K problems?

Needless to say, I am worried that by the end of this year, not only would the service business decline substantially, IBM may be faced with huge lawsuits simply due to their dominance during the era Y2K problem was created.

Thanks in advance.
