Hi Blue, glad you think intelligent - and now that you've written I've combed out the knots also torn up the notes and the phrenology diagram on graph paper I'd started (a side study of hair knots as relating to bumps on the head as an aid in foretelling the future of the market) as no longer needed & one spotted cat is enough for now.
The funniest time I was busted talking to myself in public was when my daughter was about three & we were in the supermarket. All upset,
she told me she'd lost her doll. So I said don't worry, we'll just go back all the places we've been and sure to find it. Then she slipped off to look for it on her own. Now needing to go hunting her too then; I called out for her imitating the funny voice she'd invented for the doll's talk when I saw the doll first and the baby started peeking at me then running away and giggling. This was so much fun,
by this time I was in my own world, not noticing or caring about how this appeared, until I noticed a group of older conservative folks staring at me all ready to bolt from the nut running loose. Who could resist twirling a lock of hair, displaying the doll and its funny quack to these stiffs
at such an opportune moment? Not me.
Have calmed down somewhat since then, now when muttering"where the hell are my keys" and "why the hell did I ever buy this stock?" and ask a parking lot stranger "have you seen my car?" going by this other benchmark unbenownst to onlookers shields me from feelings of
embarassment a less desensitised soul would be experiencing. A gift.
Glad to hear you and Mrs. Blue are relaxing and planning fun for this week. Being able to ski is a gift. I have a small problem with my knee (it goes out due to torn cartilage if put under too much stress) that caused me to curtail my athletics when I was 12 on doctors orders. This was a heartbreak; I'd broken the US record in standing broad jump 2 years previous & had just surfed & waterskiied for the
first time in summer and adored it. While working up to asking "Santa" for skiing lessons and equipment this happened (my knee gave out terrible while I was running in a game with my friends) so my athletic activities have been a bit curtailed since then
though I can still do plenty.
It must be so wonderful to ski, I watch it on tv sometimes and have gone on trips but stayed in the lodge and done my best to enjoy only being able to watch. Swooshing through the trees, cutting a swath, in a cloud of sparkling crystals, feeling immortal and powerful...how fine it must be. Got no idea what my style would be as am untried; so can only imagine me being so featherlight reckless and perfect at it OF COURSE that IDA've have entered the realms of American Ski Goddesses FonelyEyed...
Hope Mrs. Blue has so much fun on Wednesday, all toned up for the doctor visit ordeal which will of course be a big relief after doc says negative, nothing to worry about, no big deal again.
Thankful for her continued healing and your enjoyment of it together..
Your pal,
Joanie
