TO ALL THREAD MEMBERS: TOMMORROW WE WILL LEARN IF ROCKY REID IS PAID TO POST OR NOT!!!
As some of you may recall, last September Rocky Reid entered into an agreement with me. The agreement was that if Iomega were below $3.50 by (or before February 28, 1999), then I would reimburse him $500.00. If on the other had, Iomega's stock price was over that price, then Rocky would let this thread know if in any way shape or form Rocky was compensated. Therefore, since Iomega stock is above the agreed upon price, Rocky must inform this thread as to whether or not Rocky was paid (in any way shape or form) to post on this thread. Since I know who Rocky is, this presents a problem for Rocky. If he posts that he is not paid to post on this thread, I am free to turn this information over to the SEC. If he acknowledges that he is compensated to post on this thread, then his credibility is forever destroyed.
For those who don't recall, here are the relevant posts:
The initial post where I challenge Rocky as to whether or not he was a paid poster:

Also clever of you to avoid the questions of what bath house you met Vanni in and whether you are a paid poster.
Rocky's reply questioning my sanity:

I want everyone to remain calm now, Jocko is obviously mentally disturbed, and if we meet his inner anger and convoluted logic with only love, reason, and sanity, maybe he'll decide to leave again with his tail between his legs like last time
My proposal of the bet that was about to take place:

OK Mr. Reid. Time to slink off or come clean. Since, you are more than happy to bet one hundred dollars that Iomega will sink below three, I am sure that you will take the following bet: My bet is that Iomega will not sink below Three dollars and fifty cents between now and December 31, 1998. If it does, I will pay you five hundred dollars. If it doesn't you will sign a statement either denying or admitting that you are paid to post on this thread. That statement will be posted on this thread, and if you sign a statement denying that you are a paid poster, I will be free to present contrary evidence to the SEC. Now who is the coward little man?
Rocky backs off at first:

Well, a Five hundred $ payoff sounds nice. But I don't think that IOM will sink to $3.50 in December either. January or early February sounds a little more sensible to me. After all, it takes a couple of weeks, sometimes months for the Suckers who buy in during IOM Sucker Rallies like this one to get frustrated enough to sell.
I call Rocky a coward for backing out of the bet:

So I guess that makes you a cowardly liar. Now when faced with the opportunity to collect on your prediction with no possible loss of money--only the loss of your identity as a paid poster--you squirm back into your hole.
Rocky offers to accept the deal if I extend the time frame to February 28, 1999:
Message 6200721
I see I have to take you by the hand like a child and lead you to some sort of rationality. In my statement:
"In December, IOM will once again collapse under its own bulk and sink lower and lower into the $3's and $2's"
I stand by this. In December, IOM will start descending. It will indeed collapse into the $3's and $2's as early as January or February.
As for "squirming back into your hole", I have done no such thing. I simply don't make bets that I think I have little hope of winning in the first place. I think IOM will be in the $4's during December and heading downward. You call it squirming, I call it sensible.
If you were to extend the timeframe to say, February 28. 1999, then we have a deal.
I agree to the terms of the deal:

Done! If I need to pay, Sheila will make sure that I do just that. I have nothing more to say, and will let this thread return to its previous tranquility.
So it appears that our boy Rocky was off almost 80 percent in his prediction for Iomega's price as of February 28, 1999. Therefore, once and for all, Mr Rocky Reid--are you compensated for posting on this or any other Iomega thread? |
