TED, It's a load off our backs. We've decided to definitely move
to Fairplay and turn down the offer on it. It'll give us time to
kick back and do a bang up layout on the house we want. If we sold
both and rented, it adds somewhat a time constraint. We use 3-D cad
to design our own homes, take them to the architect and let him
do the structure to code. I have a tendency to over design. I like
things like steel I-Beams etc. Great for long spans. Most homes in
the mountains here are cedar siding. Dallas was brick. How about
where you are? Stucco like in California? I may do my
next one that way. I've heard it has a great 'R' rating and is low
maintenance. Log is big here also, but is not a good insulator and
typically 2x to 3x the cost. Both log and cedar require maintenance
about every 3 years. Maybe after y2k I'll decide on an underground
bomb shelter. :-) Then again, when PTUS comes through I may buy the
other half of Sedona next to you. <gg>
