And the Orb Drive Raves Keep On Rolling In!

from Usenet's <comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.storage>:

I don't mean to jump in here but I've been fooling around with my new Orb drive the last couple of days and it has a spring loaded door on the front that has a very tight fit and appears to have a great dust seal. When I compare this drive to my Syquest EZFlyer there is no comparison. The Orb cartridge is very well made and smaller than
the EZFlyer. I don't see any openings in the Orb cartridge that would
allow dust in while it is out of the drive. I believe that when the
cart is inserted into the drive that the mechanism open a small door
in the cart to insert the drive head. Access and transfers of the Orb
are almost equal to hard drive speeds.

I just backed up my C: drive boot partition that had about 700 mb in
it and the Orb drive finished in about 3 or 4 minutes. Compressed it
down to 340mb and all is well. I love this drive!

Chuck

Well Chuck, you're not alone. Usenet is starting to hear feedback concerning ORB's performance and build quality from intial users like yourself. And the consensus? Orb is Great and Fast Fast Fast! "I Love Ths Drive!"

Congratulations, Syed Iftikar. It sounds like you and Castlewood Systems have a real Winner on your hands!
