Nancy and Tradelite, I just returned from Sam's Club here in Phila., Pa. I could not find a parking spot for five minutes! The whole parking lot was full. My order was $300. Everyone there has an average of $300. The lines are 45 minutes long and 10 lines wide. The cashier said its like this at least Wensday through Sunday. With Y2K and people stocking up in case of problems, the money flow (machine) will only strengthen. Only problems I see is the possibility of not having supply, causing disgruntled buyers; and these lines are causing people to get angry. I hear people saying 'What the H--- is going on..." blah, blah, blah. It is annoying waiting. However, people are flocking here. I come every two weeks. Some for now some for 2000 (in case). Each visit has surprised me at the longer lines. Having said all this, WalMart needs to manage their stock price. I think it was good keeping the split in their pocket past the good earnings. They are confident about the future. Earnings will be strong all year. I think the market will be supportive this week (cpq's problems actually offset the concept that we are boiling over as an economy which wil calm the bond market). The earnings from retailers will be coming out all week. They all should be good as the ones so far have been very good. WMT made a new high last week (89.5) and held up in a down market Thursday and Friday. I believe that we will re-test 89.5 over the next 2 days. Leading up to Thursday's meeting we could break to the low 90's (my target is 92 as a weekly high!). THEN, Wmt will announce Friday morning a 2-1 split, propelling the stock price to 100 over the next 4 weeks. Then the exciting thing will be the split to 50. At that point we will be about 4 weeks from the next earnings announcement, WHICH SHOULD BE EXCELLENT! (am I a bull of this stock?). Leading up to the announcement, we likely will see 60. After the good news, 63,64,65. Then 70, all by no later than May 31st. By years end we will re-test this 85 area again. I am not a blind bull and know that general market conditions will have its effects on Wmt stock price. I do think Wmt needs to give the shareholders a split very soon. IF they do not give it this Friday morning, I suspect we will pull back from the 90 level to low 80's, even in a supportive market. It might be Intc you referred to that did not give a split. They finally gave it after the stock shed a bit. There might be another one too that I also vaguely remember. I do believe Wmt management care about their stock price (they post it here in Pa. every day). Since they care and have done everything right so far, I have to believe they will come through for us this week<G>! Steve D.
