Sounds like you need a new CMOS battery on the Motherboard...it is inside the RTC (Real Time Clock)....and provides timing to the motherboard. Call Dell: a technician will probably have to fix that... Used to be you could pull it off and exchange it yourself...now...you pretty much need to have them do it... assuming you have gone into control panel and set the time correctly to begin. start, settings, control panel, date/time, set time it should not lose time...even if unplugged... it is important since that is the first symptom....you need your "real time clock" to work. next the date will go... hope this helps....You know...to get your express code off the back and just call them...yes...? Mary
