Perhaps it would be of benefit to this thread if your postings, be they negative or positive, represented the whole truth. First the old news that you refer to is the Forcefill and Flowfill technologies that Electrotech had. You are correct that these are old technologies. What makes the announcement important is the fact that while everyone else is trying to get to a dielectric constant of 3.5, moving to 2.0 is considered quite impressive.
Their customer concerns are based on the fear that PMT will not be able to ramp production up fast enough to meet demand. However, the acquisition of Electrotech will allow them to add production facilities that should allow them too meet this demand.
The earnings announcement from AMAT should push this whole sector higher. If you haven't covered your shorts yet, I suggest you do so at the open.
