Thanks for the analysis.

I have heard from various sources that Vivus has asked the NASD to investigate into the trading of Vivus as they feel there have been irregularities. Have you heard anything to this effect?

I agree with your analysis regarding the situation regarding the short positions still left to cover. As you say those really needing to get out or having to get out or just fed up are all out. Also why still hold a hedged position at this point? Seems like there would no longer be a reason to tie up income in a hedged position.

So who is left???

Die hard longs who don't have to sell and won't. As you say, if the bottom fishers and speculators start jumping in in a big way it can get the price IMO up to the 5 or 6 range. Then add some good news and momentum players piling on and all of a sudden we are at 10. At that point where are those 5.8M short shares going to find cover???
