Duke, I really haven't tracked SGI close enough lately to give
anything that resembles an intelligent input. I just know a few of
these guys from a couple years back and wanted to drop in. Personally
I'll probably stay out of SGI during 99. I'm of the school that y2k
will bring a flight back to strong P/E companies with historical
success and hard assets. The perception of y2k will probably do more damage than y2k itself, but perception is what the market's about IMO. I'm taking a couple long shots on BB stocks, but intend to finish the year on a conservative basis. To me the risk reward is at a weakness until the millennium passes. I like SGI, believe they'll be a strong force in tomorrows' solutions, but I've recently been pretty much a momentum player, one now ready to tuck my assets into stability for awhile. I think the market is being driven by industrial stockpiling. Once backlogs and spares are filled, I think all will go flat. Orders for goods and commerce will just go on hold. Why deal with potential breaks in any link of our industrial chain?? That's my plan, and I'm probably typical of society and business. It's the safe play. Then again, I'm probably NOT typical of others. :-)
