Thanks Bill, here is an older article
from Scientific American
sciam.com

companies mentioned are...

SyStemix--a division of Novartis
StemCells, Inc.--now part of CytoTherapeutics
Osiris Therapeutics--which Novartis partly owns
Geron

I finally rediscovered the quote from McCament
(editor of the Medical Technology Stock Letter)
"CytoTherapeutics is much closer to the clinic
and more significant from an investment standpoint"
(compared to Geron).

Richard M. Rose, of ctii was quoted in the same
article as saying "We're not talking about something
10 to 20 years away like Geron" (Businessweek 11/23/98).

These Nature Biotechnology...Genetics...Medicine
articles are pretty dense stuff for me...so I'll stick
to pasting the fluffy stuff from mainstream mags for now.
But I'll say...the Nature website is pretty nice...did
not even have to go to the library to borrow the
photocopy key--a modem and a decent printer, and voila!
