The sell side is cautious at best, but I think they are coming around. There was talk of 29-40 million NEW subs for CDMA in 99. An ASIC bonanza. The steamrolling momentum of that division was quite evident to me and many others. A complete solution=short development time for the phone manufacturers using the very best quality chips. It was so obvious that these facts would force most everyone to use QCOM ASICS or they would not be able to compete. Already the next generation chip, the MSM3100, is looking like another quantum leap in performance and size reduction. How can a manufacturer NOT use QCOM ASICs?
