Pen Pen, Dash just called me needing to know who built the dome of Florence Cathedral. He needs to know about twice a year. (Apparently I made some kind of impression on him about 20 years ago; with a Big Picture Book, a fifth of Jack Daniels and a burr up my nut.)

So this time I decided to print something and send it to him. (Since he has this argument all the time, I assume he must think there's some comparison between he and Brunelleschi.)

While I was out there, I found this musical spot. (The G Spot.):

onr.com

(It takes a minute to load, but it's worth it.)

1025 AD: Guido invented accidentals as a result of diving the scales into Hexachords.

Cows holy. I have idea what that means, but I like the idea of getting credit for accidents. I know I've taken out some stop signs.

1061 AD: In the Hungarian anti-Christian Rebellion of 1061, pagan shamans used old songs to arouse the people to murder the bishops and priests of the new, official religion.

Rock and rolling heads. "History repeats;" like in octaves.

c.1100 Bagpipes become known (and probably abhored by many:) in England.

I think that's the first editorial insert in the giant list. He must really dislike bagpipes.

1203 The parson of Ossemer was killed by a stroke of lightning as he was fiddling for his parishioners to dance on the Wednesday of Whitsun-week.

Should have grounded his amp. As his critics wrote, "It's not like he'd be killed by a stroke of genius." "He shouldn'ta be fiddling like that in public anyway."

[Can you tell I'm making these up as I go along? With absolutely no consideration? It's kind of freeing.]

1240 Spectacles invented in Italy.

Panic ensues. ("The dark ages weren't so bad.")
(People start noticing their keyboards.)
(Pope liberalizes divorce.)
(They finally figure out perspective.)

Man, this guy Steve can whip em out.
