Theo: Ralston Purina Group (RAL) has an 8.49 billion market cap, is 180th in Fotune 500 in revenue, 229th in profit, employs 31800 and has an estimated EPS of $4.01 foy 1997. HQ at Checkerboard Square Saint Louis Missouri 63164. They are HUGE. RAL produces and sells dog/cat food, livestock/poultry feed, dietary soy protien, fiber food ingredients and polymer food products (fat substitute?). RAL also manufactures and sells dry cell bateries. If I recall the battery group is a new aquire - just bought either Duracell or Eveready battery. Can't remember which. Hope this helps...
