2-fer one-sale-Beat that Mr.Competitor- Dell's Workstation to Use 2 Intel Chips for Price of 1; WSJ Round Rock, Texas, March 1 (Bloomberg) -- Dell Computer Corp. will launch workstations with two Intel Corp. microprocessors for nearly the same price rivals charge for single-microprocessor workstations, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing Dell. The move will raise questions about Dell's relationship with Intel; rivals claimed that Dell's ability to sell Intel's latest and most-profitable microprocessors wins it favorable pricing, The WSJ said. Dell said the pricing reflects only the company's lower costs from its lean inventory and lack of reseller fees compared with rivals, the newspaper reported. Shares of Dell Computer Corp., Compaq Computer Corp. and other personal-computer makers fell on Feb. 25 amid concern that revenue growth will stagnate this year as companies slash prices to win sales.
