Oh, I can see this happening. Some of the larger shops on the street are not ISPs, rather they are the IT departments in Fortune 500s. There is at this time a crying need for affordable high capacity transport of main frame data, as well as emerging and extant VPN traffic among the larger end user orgs. I come across plenty of examples of this daily.

The question becomes this (in the face of outsourcing everything nowadays): Does this kind of "roll your own" (if that's what it is) stand a chance in the face of the ever growing trend to use traditional provider-based services? There are other questions that need answering as well, such as the extensibility of the DPT approach on a more global basis. For example, does it have the necessary reach to ensure compatibility to other such networks outside of the end users' own architecture?

Like I said, I need to look at this some more.
