Besides, the fact of the allegations became a news story. There are plenty of instances when papers report allegations, in essence whenever there is a trial. There are plenty of instances where papers report things that are matters of ongoing controversy, as when examining issues like global warming. This thumbsucking is silly, and just another attempt to delegitimize the story.
