Aw yes Mike Dicarlo, he use to be the golden boy at Hancock Funds. He managed the special equities fund which didn't turn out to be so special. As per usual, just as he was practically at the peak of his popularity his style fell out of favor as apparently did he with Hancock. Hancocks official statement, while not word for word went something like this... After building a solid reputation as a strong performer the special equities fund has gone through an extended period of under performance in relation to its benchmark the russell 2000 growth index as well as other small cap growth funds due to unsuccessful stock selection. The funds uncharacteristic under performance and heightened volatility have lasted for two years and we now believe it is in the best interest of shareholders to replace the funds manager.

Could it possibly be the same Mike Dicarlo?

In fairness the guy had a couple of great years 91 & 98 85% & 50.44% respectfully in class A shares.

I'm convinced all that publicity is dangerous, it seems like it often is a prelude to their downfall.
