*AV*--You know Kevin, one day we will actually agree on something and I will keel over with a massive coronary. I would be interested in whose 0.35u technology it is. Is in in house for their own fab, did they partner with someone for this technology, or did they gain access to this technology at a foundry. A few days ago, I came across an article that stated the Foundry Wafer Wars were starting up again. This is a good thing becuase it means the companies like TSMC,UMC, Windbond and Charetered Semiconductor are lowering the price for manufacturing ICs at their factories. These Foundry suppliers are trying to fill up their underutilized fabs and are dropping the prices of finished wafers to the $300-$400 range for 6" wafers and $1500-$2300 for 8" wafers. They are also opening up advanced technologies to their foundry customers.

All in all it means that it is becoming cheaper and cheaper to make ICs, a good guy for ADPT, copmanies that procure ICs for their products, and all the fabless companies involved in computer peripheral products. The bad news is for the companies that are manufacturing their own ICs and are trying to increase utilization of their factories by doing a little "foundry on the side". It may have just become slightly harder to attract big volume customers. However, it does not rule out the smaller and more custom oriented customers.

OH JEFFREY-UTEK SPIKED ABOVE 28 for a second or 2. Hope you enjoyed the 3 day ride. UTEK actually gets more interesting above 28 but I think you may have an opportunity over the next few days to get back in again for more fun.
