FRANKLIN OFFERS RESCUE TO STRANDED AOL CUSTOMERS
Westlake Village, CA.> Franklin Telecom announced today that FNet, its internet division, stands ready to help America On-Line Users who find themselves essentially stranded while AOL struggles to compensate for increasing internet demand.
According to Neil Wyenn, FNet's vice president of sales, frustrated AOL users can resolve their access problems by either visiting our Web site <www.ftel.com> or making a phone call to (800) 372-6556. In most cases, they'll actually be able to save a little money, too!"
Responding to recent statements by AOL's CEO that the on-line giant needs an additional six months to gear up to adequately handle their current customer load, Franklin's president Frank Peters said, "I have a lot of sympathy for their situation. The internet explosion has caught many companies off balance. Fortunately, Franklin has spent the last ten months firming our infrastructure so we would be prepared for what is now occurring."
Wyenn elaborates, "Although we offer national service, FNet is not yet a household word. This is largely because while some of the 'giant' companies have spent a fortune making sure that every household in the country has a dozen copies of their 'Free Trial software,' at FNet we've focused our resources on installing the hardware and making the necessary provisions to expand at a rate that carefully maintains the balance of customers to available lines. This puts us in the happy position of being able to step up and offer an immediate solution now to internet users who are unable to put their business 'on-hold' for six months while they wait for access."
Franklin Telecom, founded in 1981, designs and manufactures communications devices, high speed LAN & WAN access cards and software. Franklin has an installed base of over 100,000 nodes world wide.
