Optus and New Discoveries Sign Agreement

SYDNEY, Australia, March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Cable and Wireless Optus have
signed an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding with software development
company New Discoveries Publishing Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: NWDP) to provide
telecommunications services on Norfolk Island.
New Discoveries Publishing Corp. has licensed its software to Australian
Media Company (AMC) for Internet gaming capabilities and will receive
royalties from this arrangement. AMC will enable the delivery of home gaming
via the Internet and an interactive satellite television network.
Under the agreement, Optus will provide AMC with satellite earth stations,
telephone, mobile telephone and telecommunications services. In addition, AMC
will use Optus' Internet equipment from their Network Application Centre to
assist with distribution outside Australia.
AMC has negotiated with Optus to handle all telecommunications and
Internet services for delivery of global gaming programming via the Internet
and PAY-TV.
The agreement, expected to continue for five years, is seen as offering
Norfolk Island a major improvement to its communications infrastructure.
Norfolk Island residents will gain access to satellite transmissions, the
Internet and Optus' GSM mobile phone network. Access to video conferencing,
mainland pay television services and directory assistance will also be
available.
