Jimmy I have seen users set the maximum speed setting in the modem setup menu to 57,600 because they thought that meant their modem speed (as in 56K) effectively turning off compression. I am one of those users...and immediately made the max speed correction from 57600 to 230400 on a 56k modem. The improvement is immediately noticable,,very snappy now... Thanks for the useful info..I hope you stick around to provide more... Clarence
