Shalom, If it does not get you to David, then it was probably just not important, as the information does not go to proving or showing anything in God's plan. "Are you sure?" I'm not sure of anything, except of God's salvation plan and God's word, the bible. Please note I used the probably. not definitely..... It was just a theory, that I could live with.
