The internet is a great technology, still fairly new- but it aint gonna make us all rich. History is filled with great new technologies that hypnotized the public. Think about the telegraph. People could suddenly communicate (2-ways) at the speed of light. Imagine how exciting that would have been 150 years ago, when the quickest way to get a message to the next state was the pony express.

Western Union shareholders were all certain that their stock would always go up- until the telephone came along and knocked them down to size.

No, it is not different this time- It just seems that way from your perspective here in 1999.
