If you use PC Quote, perhaps you should try the "open interest" instead of straight volume...it might work. I get BMI datafeed for my TradeStation and I find that the volume is up to date and very accurate. I switched to trading eminis from the big S&P about a week to test out Lind Waldock's Online Direct service and also to practice my skills at riding a trend a little longer. They seem to be fine to trade. No different than the big S&Ps.
