I have eye problems myself, in fact from 8th grade to now (second year in college, 6 years later), I have gone from 20/20 vision, to almost too high of a prescription to where contacts (-5.75, -5.50 contact prescription).

My specialty physician was telling me about the OcuLight GL and products like it that will be hitting the market in the next few years. He said that it will be much easier to identify and treat blindness-causing eye diseases at that time. I can't wait, because right now there is nothing that he can tell I have using current equipment.

The interesting thing is that demand for the OcuLight GL and similar products must be very very strong. My physician and others like him are quite interested in getting their hands on these products, but the are not readily available yet.

The OcuLight GL made it to the market quite fast, and I do not doubt that it will soon be the dominant product in the marktet. It is the smallest and best.

Their supply problem is holding down the stock right now, but the key thing is that everyone wants the OcuLight GL, and sales and earnings are sure to explode when the supplier comes up with a way to meet Iridex's demand. Right now, Iridex is therefore having a hard time coming up with enough product to meet physicians' demand.

This could be hot as an investment and I am looking forward to my physician using the product either way.

Oh yeah, and I think investors could be thrown off by the fact that revenues increased by 97% in the 4th quarter of '96 but earnings actually declined. Well, that's because they spent a lot of money developing some other product that should be released sometime this year. If that looks good, the stock could also rebound that way.
