Zebra, Can you tell us why if grapefruit juice is such a potent inhibitor of the enzyme system that is responsible for sildenafil metabolism that this rather important fact is not mentioned on the drug insert? Down here in South Florida we have tons of elderly people. We also have an abundance of orange and grapefruit trees which grow in the front and back yards of many of these elderly people. In fact I have been eating fresh grapefruit off my friend's trees for the past 2 months. We have so many grapefruit that much of it doesn't even get picked and ends up rotting away. I would wager to say that there are a good number of elderly men here who take Viagra and drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit picked off their own tree and don't even know about this important fact. Is this ANOTHER example of the FDA protecting the public health as usual? Well then again these are the same people who say there is no clear evidence that there is a causal relationship between sildenafil use and sudden death from coronaries and it was probably just the stress of sex that caused all those heart attacks. LOL
