32MB at $129.99

ouch. I guess the pricing gauntlet has been thrown down. I wonder how the other IHV's are going to react. More importantly, how is 3Dfx going to react to this. Bite the bullet and drop the price on V3-2000 or hope the 3Dfx name is worth the premium.

the most interesting "bullet" is full-screen anti-aliasing. I wonder how much of a performance hit they'll be taking. I still remember playing quake on a S3 virge. I remember crying. =)

one more interesting note, I noticed on one of the hardware sites (maximumPC) that 3Dfx is selling V3-2000 chips to motherboard makers in addition to making their own motherboard solution. I'm just wondering how easy is it to slap in a LCDfx chip with it and call it a notebook solution?
