Few thoughts on the latest Medinah press release: LAKE ELSINORE, CA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 1999--Medinah Energy Inc. (OTCBB: MDIN - news) ... Field information from Mr. Gordon House, P.Geo., supervising the Altos de Lipangue diamond drilling program, indicates that strong and increasing mineralization has been intercepted in the third hole of Medinah's current drill program. (STRONG AND INCREASING MINERLIZATION-WOW-THAT SOUNDS ENCOURAGING!) The drill hole, currently at 163 meters (534.7 feet), is in a highly silicified hydrothermal breccia. (HOLE #3 HAS BEEN DRILLED DIRECTLY DOWN THE DIATREME BREECIA PIPE SOMEWHERE CLOSE TO THE OLD QUIJANO CORE HOLE I BELIEVE.) The mineralization is occurring as veins and blebs(BUBBLES) of massive pyrite(MASSIVE SULPHIDE!) and chalcopyrite up to 1 inch across. (SOUNDS LIKE WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME BIG COPPER NUMBERS IN ADDITION TO GOLD VALUES) Large well-formed quartz crystals are present and are encrusted with gold bearing chalcopyrite. (THIS PR SAYS NOTHING ABOUT MOLYBDENUM CRYSTALS-MOLY IS GENERALLY FOUND IN THE OUTER HALO OF MINERLIZATION SO WOULDN'T EXPECT MUCH HERE AT THE CENTER.) (CHALCOPYRITE IS A COPPER/IRON/SULFUR COMPOUND-IT DOES NOT CONTAIN GOLD-TO SAY THAT IT IS GOLD BEARING MEANS THAT GOLD IS EMBEDDED IN THIS COMPOUND BUT NOT CHEMICALLY BOUND TO IT-HOW WOULD MDIN KNOW THAT IT IS GOLD BEARING WITHOUT ASSAYS? THE ONLY EXPLANATION IS THAT CHALCOPYRITE CONTAINS “VISIBLE” GOLD. IT WAS RATHER SNEAKY WAY OF SAYING THAT VISIBLE GOLD IS PRESENT IN THE CORE SAMPLE-RULE OF THUMB-MEANS WE MIGHT HAVE GREATER THAN 30 GRAMS/TON OF GOLD OVER A LONG INTERVAL-WOW!) Hematite is also present and indicates a positive change from one type of alteration to another. (NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT THEY ARE GETTING AT HERE. HEMATITE IS A LESS OXIDED FORM OF MAGNETITE WHICH IS FOUND AT THE SURFACE-PERHAPS HE IS SAYING THEY DRILLED THROUGH THE OXIDIZED ZONE INTO THE SUPERGENE ZONE? OR PERHAPS HE IS SAYING THEY HAVE DRILLED THROUGH THE PHYLLIC(SERICITIC) ALTERATION ZONE INTO THE POTASSIC ALTERATION ZONE? JUST MEANS THE CORE IS PROGRESSING THROUGH THE VARIOUS MINERAL ZONES OF THE PORPHYRY. ) At last report, mineralization is continuous from 93 meters (305.1 feet) and the drill hole will be continued to the planned depth of 300 meters (985 feet). (SO WE HAVE AT LEAST 70 METERS OF VISIBLE MINERLIZATION-ALREADY AS MUCH AS IN HOLE #2.) ( THE VISIBLE MINERLIZATION IS ABOUT 40 METERS MORE SHALLOW THAT HOLE #2. HOWEVER, RECALL THAT THE IP ANOMALY SHOWED SOMETHING AT 50 METERS SO A BIT DISAPPOINTING THAT THEY DID NOT HIT SOMETHING SOONER BUT NO BIG DEAL. ONE QUESTION MARK-QUIJANO'S CORE WAS ONLY 37 METERS AND DRILLED AT ANGLE-WHY WAS THERE VISIBLE MINERLIZATION IN THAT CORE AND NOT IN THE UPPER PART OF THIS CORE? I GUESS THEY WERE NOT DRILLED IN THE SAME PLACE-HAVE NO EXPLANATION FOR THIS DIFFERENCE.) Core assay results for the first three diamond drill holes will be released after the completion of the third hole and the results have been verified and correlated. (CAN HARDLY WAIT!) I BELIEVE HOLE #3 SHOULD BE DONE TODAY-I WOULD EXPECT COMPLETE GOLD ASSAYS IN ABOUT 9 DAYS FOR THIS HOLE AT THE EARLIEST. YOU CAN GUESS THAT MDIN WILL ATTEMPT TO MOVE HEAVEN AND EARTH TO GET THESE GOLD ASSAYS OUT FAST. CHEERS!
