Virginia Department Of Transportation Contract

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Able Telcom Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: ABTE - news) announced today that its subsidiaries Transportation Safety Contractors (TSC) and Georgia Electric Co.(GEC) have been awarded the Virginia Department of Transportation project valued at $58.9 million. The project is a Traffic System comprised of closed circuit television cameras with associated transmission equipment. This project also consists of upgrading the existing Traffic Control Center and integrating all devices through a central
computer system. This job is being bonded by AIG.

Billy V. Ray Jr., CEO and President of Able Telcom Holding Corp., stated that, ''The executive management of Able is pleased with the results of the efforts of its operational divisions. Transportation Safety Contractors, Inc. and Georgia Electric Co. were the successful bidders on this project besting the second bidder E.M. Hunter, a subsidiary of Mastec, Inc., by 4.7% of the total contract value. Even with all the misinformation flowing in the market we were able to bring the award and bonding issues to successful conclusions. We appreciate the fact that our customers, bonding agents, vendors and employees have ignored the misleading statements by self-interested parties and have evaluated the Company on its merits and first-hand information.''
