NW:I say it is trivial because January is always soft. It is logical, normal, and not a big deal for January sales to be soft.

If "everybody" knows that PC sales are soft in January and "everybody" knew that Intel was coming out with the PIII in late February and the effect that that would have on sales, then that should have already been built into the earnings expectations by both CPQ and the analysts. I don't know exactly what the investor's "comment" was, but why didn't CPQ say that January and early February sales were consistent with CPQ's expectations??
