OK, let me think this through. We don't have to worry about the guy who always tells the truth, so we won't think about him. And we only have to worry about the guy who always lies if he is standing in front of the door that leads to death. So, there he is, standing in front of the door that leads to death, and if we ask him,

"Yo, my man, what would you tell me if I asked you whether that door leads to freedom,"

he would say, "I would tell you that it does lead to freedom." And you would go through it, and die.

Well, try it again. We ask him,

"Yo, my man, what would you tell me if I asked you whether that door leads to death?" And he would say,

Hmm, he might say, "I wouldn't tell you that it leads to death," or he might say, "I would tell you that it did not lead to death," and either way the double negative would give him away. Cool!

(Why does this make me think of Clinton?)
