Fast Engines' Fast.Serv Performance Plug-in to Be Bundled With Open Market's Transact 4, Helping Open Market Reinforce Its Commitment to Cutting Edge FastCGI Performance Technology

(Nasdaq:OMKT - news), a leading provider of Internet commerce and information publishing software, today announced that they have entered into an agreement to bundle Fast Engines' Fast.Serv Pro performance middleware with Open Market's Transact 4 Internet commerce software.
Fast.Serv Pro is Fast Engines' implementation of the FastCGI protocol for Netscape (Nasdaq:NSCP - news) and Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) web servers. Originally developed by Open Market, FastCGI is the open solution to the performance problem known as the CGI bottleneck. FastCGI greatly improves the performance of dynamic web sites by allowing existing applications to run persistently and securely as isolated processes, without requiring a costly re-write to confirm to one of the proprietary web server extensions or application servers.
