I think were missing something really important here by not having "baskets" in which to place our candidates. The ATI Tech nomination to the Watch and Wait portfolio is a case in point. I would agree that ATI belongs in some gorilla-king portfolio but to be true to the spirit of the GG, that same basket should also contain TDFX, NVDA, maybe even SIII. Tossing ATI into the same basket as NTAP, for example, reminds me of a game I used to play as a kid. I'd gather up a jar of black ants and toss them onto a pile of red ants to see who would win the ensuing battle. The problem is, the playing field was not even close to level, and the "home" ants would always win, had it been more of a battle of near equals the game would have been a lot more interesting, and who knows, I might have even been a billionai..., er, biologist today.

So the questions are if and how are we going to deal with the basket issue, in practical terms, on this thread? Let's make it interesting <G>
