I think there will be opportunities for price wars down the line. Intel might not show up to do battle though. Analysts are expecting $9.00+/share. An out of the ordinary price cut would guarantee they don't meet estimates. Conceding 10% to 15% market share, while continuing to gouge customers at the high end might allow them to come close to estimates for the year($8.00+/share). Unfortunately, this would still disappoint most analysts.

Let AMD ramp up there production capacity first, then go for the huge market share. I think starting out with low prices would just leave profits on the table, especially if they could not meet demand.
