Behold the Lillies of the field...I read Jesus as saying that God would provide for the truly religious, and since everyone was expecting the kingdom of God just about anyday, its probably hard to enter into that mindset. Jesus was kind of like the leader of the folks who took off after that comet, on the intergalactic kool aid acid ride, he didn't think his followers were going to need lots of excess baggage. That's a problem for moderns reading the Bible- people been waiting a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG time, and the ones that gives away their marbles in the hopes that the time is at hand always end up looking a little foolish.
